I found the problem that Portable-VirtualBox makes inaccesible disc, write access errors, etc.

If you don't know what I'm talking about check this out:
ERROR "Could not find a hard disk with UUID" after taking snapshot and re-open Portable-VirtualBox.

---

Now I want to tell how I found and corrected this problem:
michaelm_007 (the autor of Portable-VirtualBox) has been using an old version of AutoIT to compile the source code, you can check in the executable "Portable-VirtualBox.exe" compiled with AutoIT 3.3.2.0 and this is the problem to all of those write access errors, inaccesible disc, etc.! After I re-compile with the latest version of AutoIT 3.3.6.1 all starts to work fine! :)

Edit:
[PROBLEM SOLVED] Portable-VirtualBox v3.2.6 has been updated with a "Portable-VirtualBox.exe" re-compiled with the latest version of AutoIT, so go and download it!

German translation (without regards if this is really a working solution):

Two qustions about the virtualbox.xml bug.

1. Does anyone know the 7/11/2010 release fixed the bug? I downloaded the the 7/9/2010 release, it still has the bug. The file name is the same but the date was different.

2. If I don't have virtualbox.xml-temp to recover from, is there anyway I can recreate a correct virtualbox.xml file manually?

Thanks for any help.

I really like this software just hoped it does not have this terrible bug.

Double-Post: Does 7/11/2010 release fix the bug

I can`t answer your question, but why don`t you give a try the file in this first post by "DarkBlood"?

Yes you can, but you will lose your snapshots.

This is how I made it, manually delete all data files EXCEPT the virtual hard disks, so delete the folder ..\data\.VirtualBox\Machines\ and all the XMLs in ..\data\.VirtualBox\, then open Portable-VirtualBox and re-add a new system with the hard disks you already had (they are in ..\data\.VirtualBox\HardDisks\).

EDIT:
michaelm_007 has updated all the recent versions of Portable-VirtualBox, so go and download it!

Problem seems to be solved.

Thank you g-force and for the warning too! :-D

Well, it's time for me to leave... See you in a future bug of Portable-VirtualBox, bye!! ;-)
